• How much should I charge for renting out a room?
  • There is no "set" price, however read page 10 for some suggestions.

• Should I furnish the room?
  • There are exceptions to every rule, but before you do, see page 36 for some surprising answers.

• What about utilities and the phone?
  • Depending on how your household is set up, several options are discussed on pages 26, 29-30, & 40.

• My roommate wants a lock installed on her door. Should I?

• How do I place my ad and where?
  • Every City, County and State has its own unique resources. Read Chapter Eight for several ideas.

• What happens when my roommate doesn't pay the rent?
  • It happens sometimes. Remember don't panic. There are several choices discussed on page 11.

• My roommate had her boyfriend move in. This was not our arrangement. Now what do I do?
  • The most common problem between roommates. Did you sign a lease outlining your house rules? If you did and this rule was part of the agreement, she is in violation of the lease. • How do I interview a potential roommate?

• My best friend wants to be my roommate? Is it a good idea?
